ABOUT:

The program that is used is called “Head to the Heart” (H2H) Confirmation ministry, which is a three (3) year program. H2H strives to include parents in all facets of the Confirmation process. Families are strongly encouraged to go through H2H as a unit. I would therefore like to have a parent and/or grandparent attend with their child. Therefore, in an effort to be family-friendly, we need to meet weekly because I need an hour and a half in order to get through the material. Therefore, we will need to determine when the best day and time is to meet to accomplish this.

In H2H, the Bible serves as the main textbook. Everything will be provided for each student except a Bible. There will be a paper that will go home each week so that there can be some family time with your child. Please note: Bring Your Own Bibles as well as Luther’s Small Catechism, which will be provided, to class with you.

The themes we will be studying this year (2025-2026) are: “The Old Testament,” “The Life of Jesus” and “The New Testament.” Next year (2026-2027) the themes will be: “Luther and the Small Catechism,” “The Ten Commandments,” and “The Apostle’s Creed. The last year (2027-2028) the themes will be: “The Lord’s Prayer,” “Hot Topics,” and “Lutheran Life” and “Confirmation Promises.”

There will be homework assignments that will be assigned out of the “Exploring Luther’s Small Catechism,” that the students will be provided, and they will have three years to complete this. These are very short, time wise speaking, and I am hoping this helps the students to be able to understand about their faith and how they can articulate it, especially when it comes to writing the required paper when they get Confirmed.  I am hoping to see all students, and hopefully at least one parent or grandparent in our class. What a beautiful way to show support to our confirmands then by having a parent there learning and imparting the Christian faith to their child!
